In honor of this golden season of tumbling leaves and crisp air, I bring you a Vegan Pumpkin Spiced Banana Bread.
I’m nowhere near a baker, nor will I ever pretend to be a food blogger — but this is my recipe for a nice, simple slice of bread that pairs perfectly with our Spiced Pumpkin Spell tea.
Pumpkin spice is seasonal alchemy, turning simple ingredients into comfort, nostalgia, and a touch of enchantment. And when blended with ripe bananas and chocolate? MAGIC.
Ingredients & Instructions:
Vegan Banana Bread
You’ll need:
- 3 large, very ripe bananas
- ⅓ cup olive oil (or melted coconut oil)
- 6 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 1 tsp vanilla — or measure with your heart
- 1 tsp of our Pumpkin Spice Powder (or your own mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and ginger — ours also has vanilla) — perhaps a little extra?
- Optional (but also mandatory): ½ cup chunky chocolate pieces
Instructions
- Preheat: 350°F / 175°C
Grease a 9x5 loaf pan with a little oil and/or line with parchment paper. - Mash the Bananas – In a large bowl, mash your ripe bananas until smooth. Add olive oil and brown sugar, and vanilla stirring until well blended.
- Mix Dry Ingredients – In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt and pumpkin spice.
- Combine & Stir – Slowly fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients. Stir until the batter comes together.
- Add the Magic – Toss in your chocolate chunks and mix lightly — just enough to swirl love through the loaf.
- Bake & Wait (hardest part) – Pour the batter into your loaf pan and bake for 45–60 minutes, depending on your oven. When a toothpick comes out clean and the top is golden, it’s ready.
- Let cool slightly before slicing — though, if I’m being honest, it’s best eaten warm when the chocolate is still melty and the scent of spice fills your kitchen.

This cozy loaf pairs perfectly with our Spiced Pumpkin Spell Tea — a warming herbal blend that features our cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger and vanilla mixture and tastes like autumn herself.
Yes, it’s a lot of the same flavor, but the bread is much sweeter than the tea, so it creates a lovely balance — at least in my very humble opinion. ;)
Serve a slice of this banana bread with a steaming cup of your favorite fall brew, and you’ve got the perfect companion for anytime of day.
Optional Twists
Add a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans for an earthy crunch.
Drizzle a bit of maple syrup or sprinkle some spiced sugar on top for extra sweetness (that's what i do)!
Dust with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and cinnamon before serving for a touch of bakery style magic.
And remember — this bread freezes beautifully. Wrap a few slices and save them for a frosty morning when you need a little autumn joy.
