Embers & Petals

Once upon a time, in the deepest dark,
there appeared a spark, a continuing arc.
A witch’s love-laced whispers set fire ablaze,
banishing shadows, dissolving the haze.

The hearth awakened with the spirit of three:
gourd, flower, and spice all dancing free.
Autumn spells once dormant awakened anew,
giving life to a most sacred brew.

The witch chanted thrice:

“Cauldron of fire and hearth of spice—

I invoke the power you hold within.
I do this with care, for my kin.
Flower and spice weave tales through steam,
spin your magic like a soft, steady stream.

I banish the shadows as the leaves take flight,
I call in comfort for all tonight.
With sacred whispers and the power in me,
may the firelight’s glow dwell in this tea—so mote it be.”

The words settled gently into the hearth’s light,
and like a dream, enchantment dazzled bright.

As gourd turned goblet and spice nestled within,
the witch only smiled, a knowing grin.
For comfort had come to her kindred kin—
and warmth was now as delicious as sin.
